Useful sources of tourism information include:

• The Ministry of Tourism.
• Tourism New Zealand (TNZ).
• Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) – checkout the website of your local regional or district tourism organisation or economic development agency. Some RTOs undertake their own research on the impact of visitors in their area.
• The Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIANZ).
• The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
• Green Globe New Zealand – encourages the development and promotion of environmentally responsible and sustainable tourism.
• The World Tourism Organisation (WTO).
• The Tourism Research Council New Zealand (TRCNZ) website hosts the ‘Core Tourism Data Set’.
• Lincoln University’s Tourism Planning Toolkit, which is hosted on the Ministry of Tourism website. The Tourism Toolkit identifies a range of relevant information and sources of information that can assist local government with tourism planning.
