Road hierarchies – Access and capacity diagram

The diagram shows how the factors speed, capacity and through-traffic decrease, and how the factor access increases, in the following hierarchy of roads: from motorway and expressway (both are state highways), through primary and secondary arterials, collector and local routes, to residential cul-de-sacs.
