The Bay of Plenty monitoring and information forum was established in 2002. The forum is attended by participants from Environment Bay of Plenty, Western Bay of Plenty, Tauranga City Council, Whakatane, Opotiki, Kawerau and Rotorua District Councils, Bay of Plenty District Health Board, the Ministry for the Environment and other agencies.
The purpose of the forum is to exchange and share data, knowledge and expertise in information and data management, advance the measurement of environmental performance indicators, enhance state of the environment reporting in the Bay of Plenty, and to identify and resolve data acquisition, information technology and management issues.
Waikato Information Forum (WINFO)
The Waikato Information Forum was established in 1996. The forum is attended by participants from Environment Waikato, representatives from Hamilton, Hauraki, Franklin, Matamata-Piako, Rotorua, South Waikato, Waitomo, Otorohanga, Taupo, Thames Coromandel, Waikato and Waipa territorial authorities and representatives from environment Bay of Plenty, Waikato District Health Board and the Ministry for the Environment.
WINFO was initially established to bulk purchase aerial photographs of the Waikato Region. The forum has since been redefined to broaden its scope with the overall aim of effective information sharing and integrated monitoring and reporting.
Northland Monitoring Forum
The Northland Monitoring Forum was established in 2002. The forum is attended by participants from Northland Regional Council, Kaipara, Whangarei and Far North District Councils and representatives from the Ministry for the Environment and the Department of Conservation.
The purpose of the forum is the exchange and sharing of data, knowledge and expertise in information and data management, to advance the measurement of environmental performance indicators (including social and economic indicators) and to enhance state of the environment reporting in Northland.
